North Star Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten is open year round 7:00 am to 5:30 pm in Jackson, MI. We have two multi-age classrooms with a 1:10 teacher-student ratio. Our school is for children ages 2 years 9 months - 6 years old and the academic school year begins in September the day after Labor Day through the first week of June. Our summer classes are available for children up to 12 years old and begin the second week of June.
If you wish to amend your child’s program choice or length of day, we must be notified via email to northstarmontessori@yahoo.com. We will let you know if we can accommodate your request.
North Star Montessori has open enrollment throughout the year based on availability. We will invite you to enroll following a scheduled visit to the school. Once we receive all of your required enrollment materials, including your application, application fee, health forms and deposit this will finalize your child’s enrollment.
Our focus is on education and parents choose us because they want the best foundation for their child. From morning preschool to full time care, parents know that their child will be in a structured loving environment full of educational opportunities.
Payment is due on the first of each month.
We accept Cash, Check, and DHS payments for tuition.
All parents (upon receipt of a completed application materials) will receive a digital copy of our Parent Handbook & Pandemic Preparedness Plan which will include information needed for the school year.
In the tables below you will find our Preschool & Kindergarten Program Schedules. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines we are offering 3-day Programs only at this time for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Children must be toilet-trained before participation in all programs.

Preschool & Kindergarten
The registration fee at North Star Montessori is $75.00 per child and is non-refundable.
Payments are considered late on the 3rd of the month and will incur a $20 late fee. There is no tuition credit or deductions for absences due to illness, vacation, school holiday, or inclement weather. Those students whose fees are 7 days past due may not attend school until the fees are up to date.
*Health Appraisal Form must be completed by Physician and submitted to NSM within 30 days of your child's start date

Parents enrolling more than one child at North Star Montessori's will receive 10% off for the child enrolled in the less expensive program.
All children enrolled at NSM must submit a current Immunization Record or Waiver prior to their first day of school, in accordance with State Regulations.
