Throughout the year we invite a variety of guests into our classroom. Parents love to share their special talents, interests, jobs, and travel experiences with the kids.
Parents and grandparents often volunteer their time to help celebrate holidays and read to our children.
In addition, we invite community members such as firefighters and dental hygienists to teach us about health and fire safety. We have had authors, magicians, zoo keepers and musicians come to inspire our students. To find out more about the different events that take place during the year visit our calendar page.
The design of our classrooms are well thought out and carefully prepared to stimulate your child's learning. Our well equipped classrooms highlight the order and beauty in each Montessori material children select. North Star students have lots of opportunities to be decision makers and problem solvers as they learn to move independently throughout the classroom choosing hands-on Montessori activities in Math, Science, Reading, Writing,Spanish, World Culture & Geography, Art, Music and Peace Education. becoming active participants in their own education. Our rooms are cozy with plenty of natural light, plants, and intimate work spaces.
We are a community of learners that enjoy collaboration, independence, order, and love of learning. Our curriculum is specifically designed to engage children's learning by preparing everything in the environment to meet the child's needs and development over a period of three years. We are able to provide consistency in learning as your child progresses with the same teacher and classmates following your child's natural plane of development from 3-6 years old. North Star Montessori teachers work in small groups giving individual attention to your child as they work at their own pace, nurturing and encouraging their natural desire to learn.
