Summer Fun Program (2011)
Have the kids ages 3-6 years old pack a lunch and we will provide the smiles. Our 3-day weekly sessions are from 9:30 A.M. to 12 P.M.
Amigos Spanish
June 7th, 8th, and 9th
Travel to Spain and experience an authentic Flamenco dance, help prepare and taste traditional food from Spain, while learning Spanish through crafts, songs, and stories.
Dynamite Dinosaurs
June 14th, 15th and 16th
Learn about our prehistoric pals. Kids will go on a big dig and some mini digs for dino bones, skeletons and more! Come sing, read and create dinosaurs galore.
Panda-monium!
June 21st, 22nd and 23rd
Pandas, Pandas, Pandas! We will travel to China to learn about these amazing bears! Kids will learn about their habitat, life cycle, hear stories, do crafts, sing, dance and make bamboo music.
Stars N' Stripes
June 28th , 29th and 30th
We will do crafts and sing songs that celebrate U.S. history. We will learn about our flag and do Fourth of July crafts. Wear your red, white, and blue and join us.
Oceans in Motion
July 5th, 6th and 7th
Explore the deep blue, will look at sharks, dolphins, starfish, and more ocean life using books, hands on activities and art.
Ahoy Mateys!
July 12th, 13th and 14th
Kids will have a swashbuckling good time counting and reading maps to find treasure. X marks the spot at North Star Montessori for stories, crafts, and adventures.
Kids Cook
July 19th, 20th and 21st
We will mix, stir, chop, pour, mash and spread up some delicious recipes. We'll supply the aprons and the fun.
Outrageous Outdoors
July 26th, 27th and 28th
Kids will play outdoor games that get them moving! From obstacle courses to Ring around the Rosies kids will laugh and learn outdoors.
Creepy Crawlies
August 2nd, 3rdand 4th
Kids can't resist learning about insects and their habitats, through songs, stories, outdoor exploration, and art.
Big Top Fun
August 9th, 10th and 11th
Carnival fun for everyone, from walking the tight rope(balance beam) to games like, body boppers, potato sack races, ring toss, # fun at the duck pond and more! Kids will learn while having fun. They will even make their own Circus Animal sugar cookie snack!
Kids Camp
August 16th, 17th and 18th
Kids will have fun doing traditional "camp" activities such as singing campfire songs, making S'mores, having a (nitrate free) hot dog/veggie dog roast, hearing stories in tents, doing crafts and going on nature hikes.
Music and Movement
August 23rd, 24th and 25th
Kids will move to different beats using scarves, beanbags, yoga, rhythm sticks, hula-hoops and parachute activities. Focus on developing confidence, coordination, balance and rhythm.
